The Dynasphere - A Revolutionary Vehicle That Never Caught On - (VIDEOS)

The Dynasphere - 1932!

The Dynasphere was a monowheel electric vehicle invented in 1932 by Dr. J. A. Purves from Taunton, Somerset, UK. It had 2.5 horse power and once attained a speed of 25 to 30 mph.

"A remarkable invention in spherical locomotion which will one day revolutionize modern transport". At least that what the guy who invented this ride thought he had on his hands back in 1932.

The Dynasphere was a unique attempt at rethinking the still relatively new concept of personal, motorised transport. And it was insane.

The fully functioning Dynaspheres' in this video were built by Dr J.A. Purves who called it "spherical locomotion" and openly claimed that it would revolutionise human transportation. It didn't. But it was a hell of a fun idea.
